The transnational and inter-sectoral EU project “Alpshealthcomp” aims at the establishment of a competent network to strengthen the competitiveness of the alpine space as health and wellness destination in a sustainable way. The common initiative “Alpine Space” offers the possibility to increase the added value of the alpine space as a whole and to boost the competitiveness in the fields of alpine health and physical / psychological well-being by crosslinking of the health- and the tourism sector. The concentration of the partners on one common topic, the combination of experience, expertise, knowledge and specific advanced training measures as well as the transnational technical and economical cooperation will help to create premium service offers for inhabitants and guests likewise.
The planning and implementation of the project has been set on basis of a 3-years-timetable, which will be realised through the following focal practical and research work:
Research of medical effectiveness of alpine-specific products and services and development of innovative alpine-specific products and services |
quality management of alpine health and wellness offers |
initiatives in the fields of transnational education and advanced training |
market research on customer expectations, wishes, potentials and factors of success of alpine health and wellness destinations |
continuous media work and public relations |
All activities contribute to the main objective of the project to establish a transnational network for the improvement and strengthening of the Alps as a health and wellness destination. Particularly the fixation of quality standards in the field of touristic hard- and software is to be mentioned. The effectiveness of well known, traditional as well as new, innovative alpine-specific remedies will be surveyed and validated with the help of scientific studies.
Another important aim is to check the transferability and the suitability of the alpine remedies for broad application. Concerning the transnational network activity different approaches are intended (vertical as well as horizontal):
inter-sectoral und inter-regional network activities between the touristic service-providers, agriculture, handicraft enterprise, NGOs, public authorities, private medical care, etc. |
network building on a transnational level in-between single sectors by information exchange; know-how transfer for the upgrading of alpine specific and constitutional services and products |
accompanying research on existing alpine specific medical products and services that have demonstrable constitutional effects as well as the definition of quality standards |
development of new, innovative alpine-specific medical products and services that have demonstrable constitutional effects |
transnational and inter-sectoral crosslinking for job creation in the fields of a growing health and wellness market |
selective public relations to promote the Alpine Space as a high quality health and wellness destination |
The project specific results will be presented/ discussed/ intensified and implemented in transnational conferences. The different thematic contributions for the topic “The Alps: A sustainable health and wellness destination” will be gathered and the milestones will be released in a final publication. You can find results of the ongoing work progress in the news section.
The projects started with the signing of the subsidy contract and the partnership
